that's how we peep at God with a Hi |
How long can
you stand a boyfriend/ girlfriend/fiancee/ husband who doesn’t communicate? I
bet if your boyfriend/ fiance/ husband treats you that way, you would break
their nose. You know what I mean; if we are not getting the good morning
signing up, the midday checking in and the goodnight signing off.
How can you
jump onto a bus and the next second you want to get off? Why even bother join
it in the first place? We sit behind our
bibles and we get up after a short time while we were chatting half the time
with friends on social media. Who would be happy with his/her love interest if
they are chatting on their phones the entire time they are having a serious conversation?
If you have been skipping anger management class, I bet you would smash the
phone.
The way we
check up on our love interest
shouldn’t exceed the way we talk to God; we are married to Him. We accepted
Jesus Christ as our Lord and personal Saviour and He is now the love of our
lives yet we speak to Him occasionally. It might interest you to know that as
brides, the way we treat our groom (Jesus Christ) is a replica of what is actually
happening in our relationship; same for the gentlemen.
When we
don’t speak to God or hear from Him a day, we shouldn’t feel comfortable. We
should be worried that something is up but since we know the problem is not
coming from God, we have to look no further than ourselves. Probably and most
certainly, we are cheating on God.
Yes, you
might have heard in Malachi that we rob God, which is very much true, yet again
we cheat on Him with anything and everything you can think off. When faced with
a situation, we call our love interest
and ask them for their opinion whereas God has told us to come to Him with our
burdens and load for He cares. Yes it’s
good to share our problems with them and keep them in the knowing but we put
them first before God and we forget that it’s God who has the answer. We ought
to share our plans with God as He has told us to do but we take it upon
ourselves to administer it without seeking clarity from God. It’s just like a
wife who prepares Fufu and soup then later calls her husband to ask what he
would like to take for supper.
It’s about
time we stop saying “Hi” to God and start actually having a real conversation
with Him. When we speak to our love interest, we talk to them about everything
we can think of; from how the day went, the look the lady at the bank gave us,
how bad our lunch was, ask what dress we should wear to where, the lady who
stole the show at the programme and a whole lot. We can develop that
relationship with God too; remember He knows everything. Aside asking God for
this or that we should talk to Him like the father-friend that He is. Let’s
remember that how good our relationship with Him is would reflect our well our
relationship with our love interest would be.
Let’s do
this right…
