BEAUTY ON A BUDGET 2 (FINAL)

Come on, this dress looks good on you and there is a perfect shoe and bag to match. Don’t tell me it’s too expensive; that’s why it’s a boutique and by the way if it’s not expensive it’s not quality.

That’s “Miss” persuading a lady to live the life she does; shopping is like her second nature.

She quickly calls a friend or perhaps her boyfriend and I already feel pity for him. Not just because of the list of items she mentioned she needed but his health. No one being at the receiving end of that call would decide to sit home instead of going to check if nothing is disconnected in their ear.

She calls home only during the Christmas and visits home never. Why? She’s busy making money for the family; can they complain? So back to her work; work? She shows up at every party and visits friends in a chain which she meets their absence all the time unless they took a sick leave.

How then does she earn her money for all the shopping and big leaving? You don’t expect her to play “wife” and not get needs catered for. To her it’s like “work and pay”.

Wait for this shocker; the next thing you know she is seriously looking for a job, clinging to her bible, and selling half of the things in her wardrobe that she never wore; and trust me, she isn’t faking it.

 I know, I know, who gave her a pathetic pat on her head with a hammer. (*I’m kidding, I kid*) truth is she decided to pay attention to an ad that has been showing on TV and this time it struck her that true beauty is from within.

If the inside is dark and ugly, no matter how you beautify the outside its still won’t matter. She realised another thing; low self-esteem. You got to be happy with who you are and develop yourself.

All the “turning up”, showing off, huge budget minus a well-paid job, it doesn’t add up to the YOU within.

Attitude and image is everything; let the world see how beautiful you are without having to turn a mall and boutique upside down. Beauty is the heart of gold. Beauty is when you care for others other than yourself and inspire them to the top. Beauty is knowing your worth which comes from within and not from human appraisal. Beauty is feeling good about yourself whether or not you rock the latest channel dress and Gucci bag.

Hey watch out! Here comes “Miss” walking with grace and feeling light hearted. She helps the granny cross the road. Wait, did she just smile? That uses to happen only on New Year. She rocks her comfy dress and shoe with attitude and guess what? She got paid but this time she is not heading to shop, she got great investment and donations plans. That’s what I am talking about; she seem to have gotten her life on track; she is making it happen. You can be a beauty on a budget when you know what you want in life and you focus your resources there.

 It’s not a fairy tale; it’s WORK.
