The Word That Cuts

When it cuts, it refocuses our direction and helps us walk worthy of our calling...
It brings liberation; it is life and light - that is why it is the sword of the Spirit.

Heb 4:12 - For the word of God [is] quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and [is] a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

The Word cuts for a purpose, for a renewal of our minds and the transformation of our hearts; and it's always active and living.
Luk 24:32 And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?
Act 2:37 Now when they heard [this], they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men [and] brethren, what shall we do?

When we hear, read or study the word, there's a life in it; which is Christ and He connects with His Spirit in Us that opens the eyes of our understanding to see things in the light of His word.
When the word cuts your heart, it causes you to ask questions and it brings you to immediate submission to the In- Charge: God. It's puts us in check and causes a revival.
Total submission births total reliance and to rely totally on Him, you must always take in the Word.
There's nothing more liberating, peaceful and sweet as God telling you everything and making decisions with You through His Word.  Its a very refreshing exercise and the feeling is priceless.
Sometimes, He proves you wrong, there are times you would think alike too, and His directions are perfect-  You cant question it; not because you can't, but because its always on point, but the most important of all is the learning process, it's always awesome ๐Ÿ’ž❤.

When the Word doesn't cut you, then you have no relationship with His Spirit in You, because Jesus said; the words that I speak to you, they are Spirit and they are life ( John 6: 63).

When the Holy Spirit points you to the Word, it's not to condemn you, but rather bring you to remembrance.
Rom 8:1 [There is] therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
John 14:26 But the Comforter, [which is] the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

๐ŸŽ€When you are wondering if you are the best candidate for the job, then you read the word and find out, it's not by your might nor by your power, but by the Spirit of God ( Zacharia 4:6) you just feel that sharp cut in your heart and acknowledge that it's not your fight, but Gods'.
You will always feel inadequate if you think of what you can do and cannot do, instead of what Christ can do through you. The Word would also remind you that our sufficiency is of the Lord.

๐ŸŽ€When you are expecting a baby and you are worried about how you are going to take care of it because you are financially down, the Holy Spirit points you to Matt 6: 27 where you are reminded that worry doesn't add a cubit to your stature. In fact immediately the word cuts your heart, you start thinking of the condition you are placing the baby and you brighten up. You now look to the one who feed the birds of the air and the grass of the fields.

๐ŸŽ€You probably might be brainstorming on ways to be prosperous, rich, successful and all the fine things that comes with it, then you hear the words in Joshua 1:8 that says that "This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success". The Word cuts your heart, and you start looking inwardly to ask yourself if you are walking in obedience and meditating on the Word.

๐ŸŽ€Sometimes someone offends you so much that you start planning what next to say or do to the person, but when the word in Eph 4: 26-32 cuts your heart, you speak back to them in love so that you don't allow the sun to set on your anger. You also do wrong people, so ask yourself if it's fair to them.

๐ŸŽ€A Christian struggling with a certain sin seems like a defeat and would  normally not voice out to be helped. Acknowledging you have a problem is the beginning to the solution.
Heb 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as [we are, yet] without sin.
Heb 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
Spending quality time at the throne illuminates to you the consequences of that sin and it makes you hate it. When this words cuts your heart, you know exactly what to do. Then another one from Gal 5:16 which say " [This] I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh" adds up and you humble yourself for the Lord to work through you the very essence of His Spirit.

๐ŸŽ€When you panic for not receiving that appointment, or why it's taking you long to marry, and you beat yourself for being the cause because you think it's you probably have done someone wrong, the Holy Spirit one day through the pastor or that friend points you to  Ecclesiastes 3:11 which says "He hath made every [thing] beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end." this cutting would go deep down into your blood streams and you would begin to trust the timings of the Lord.

๐ŸŽ€There comes a time when we are overwhelmed by our problems that we begin to look for solutions else where, but   that still small voice takes you to Psa 125:1 They that trust in the LORD [shall be] as mount Zion, [which] cannot be removed, [but] abideth for ever. Psalms 25:3 and Romans 10:11 says that "They that trust it the Lord shall never be put to shame" isn't this word sweet like honey.
Mat 11:28 - 30: Come unto me, all [ye] that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls, for my yoke [is] easy, and my burden is light.

The word cuts your heart and make  you realize how much you undermined the power of God.
There is a message in the Word for every situation and it cuts your heart to prompt you to do accordingly. May God through His words transform our lives, Amen.
